Choosing A Wedding Bouquet

Choosing your bridal bouquet is a lot like choosing your wedding dress, they come in all shapes and sizes and suit every type of personality and style.  Therefore not all bouquets suit all body types.  The first thing a bride should do is to decide on the theme of the wedding whether it is to be casual or formal.  This will then Indicate what type of bouquet is best suited for the occasion.

1.    Tall Brides should choose longer like cascade bouquets or sheafs.

2.    Short Brides should choose more compact bouquets

3.    Full figured brides should choose fuller flower groupings.

Types of bouquets.

·     Cascade flowers are shaped like a waterfall or shower and are rounded at the top with flowers flowing over the hands of the bride to give the illusion of a waterfall.  Any type of flowers can be used although large-petaled blooms such as roses, lisianthus, lilies and orchids are most favored as they drape naturally . These are chosen for more formal occasions.

·      Long-stem flowers are used to make a presentation or an arm sheaf bouquet and are cradled alongside the inner arm of the bride. This arrangement is considered quite chic even in this day and age. This consists of long-stem roses, orchids, delphiniums , orchids and calla lilies.

·      For the  bride who prefers not to carry a bouquet a flower bracelet or wrist corsage can be worn consisting of a group of flowers such as roses or orchids and attached to a wristband.

·     The small rounded packed flowers called nosegar are great for the fuller figured  bride consisting of small, sparsely packed flowers that incorporate more green to emphasize the flower petals and stems.  This arrangement can be used for both formal and casual occasions.

When choosing a bouquet it is important to know what flowers mean for each flower carries a message.

A  bride carrying roses indicate love with a twist of ivy fidelity, and adding yellow irises passion.   Even if everyone in  the bridal party is unaware of what you bouquet means, you will and it will bring  a special meaning to the occasion.
